Jersey Jack have done it again! With their much anticipated Hobbit pinball machine release fast-approaching, they’ve found the time to make vast improvements to the Wizard of Oz machines from software to playfield, this time re-imagining it to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the original film.
The new Ruby Red Limited Edition machine is limited to a run of 1,500 metallic ruby adorned units, with special features as extra sculptures and new fixtures. If you’ve been keeping your eye on one of these machines, now is the time to try to get your hands on one of these models, as it’s not going to get any better than a 75th Anniversary Limited Edition! This dazzling new machine is set to be the most collectable of all editions and will be the envy of any pinball or Wizard of Oz fanatic - if you can manage to get hold of one!
The highlighted special features show new moulded castle walls for the upper playfield on the left hand side, a 3D sculpted twister by the side of the spinning house, a sculpted Toto in a basket (my personal favourite new touch!) and lollipop targets. The metallic trim on the body of the machine, usually silver, or metallic green for the Emerald City Limited Edition, will be finished in a classy metallic ruby red, with ruby red ramps and ruby tinted mirrored backglass.
These machines will be available in the summer, 2014. But if you're serious about getting one, you'll need to get in contact as soon as possible to make sure you secure it - the Emerald City Limited Edition sold out instantaneously, so we are expecting the same for these! Check out our Wizard of Oz Ruby Red Pinball Machine listing for more information and contact our freindly sales team for advice.
Here at Home Leisure Direct, we’re really excited about the release of this edition, as we love the Emerald City Limited Edition that we’ve been lucky enough to have in our showroom and are hoping to see the Ruby Red 75th Anniversary LE at the upcoming EAG Expo in Janurary next year.
As an avid player of this great machine in our showroom during lunchtime, I can testify that despite pinball enthusiast’s wariness of the license and the new manufacturer, it really is a captivating game and becomes more addictive the more you play it as you begin to understand the rules and shots. It also helps that I'm quite a fan of the original film and even starred as The Wicked Witch of The West in a school play!
If you’re thinking of popping in to see the Wizard of Oz Pinball Machine, our model has recently been on the road for display at various gaming shows around the country, but is due to return to the showroom soon (speak to our sales team for more information).
