Step into a memorabilia menagerie created by Jim and Nicky for their entry into Games Room of the Year 2021. Named the “Perfect Bar”, Jim and Nicky’s entry was chosen as a finalist for 2021 because of their unique flare and attention to detail whilst fitting in a huge number of collectibles. Complete with more neon than Las Vegas and a fruit machine wall to match, the Perfect Bar really showcases Jim and Nicky’s bright personality. Taking centre stage is the pub-style pool table with electric blue cloth and classic pub spotlights above featuring the Budweiser logo. In fact, the entire room is covered with various beer and spirit logos, whether in neon lights, mirror frames or even an enormous Amaretto light.
In the corner is the home dartboard with Bully himself from Bullseye, next to their homemade wooden bar with coin-topped surface and fitted TV. There are as many drinks in the fridge and shelves as there are displayed on the walls. In the other end of the games room is a great sofa perfect for relaxing on with a few cocktails or a movie night, with another wall-mounted TV. Or, if you fancy a more lively night, you can have a go on the slots and win the jackpot.
How do Nicky and Jim choose what to do in their games room, with so many possibilities? We asked them what their favourite part of their room is: “On a party night the bar takes a beating, we love making cocktails! On a quote night, we will tend to play pool and darts with a bit of music in the background. Sometimes we will just kill the lights and put a movie on.”
Jim and Nicky gave us some insight into the creation process: “It’s been great fun building our bar and filling it with interesting items, it’s great to showcase it.” Work began back in 2018, with the Games Room finished after only a few months, but Jim and Nicky say “The room will never be complete! We are always adding and moving things.”
With so much already filling the Perfect Bar, we wondered if Jim and Nicky had any other plans for their games room. We were surprised to hear they have several ideas for their space including a hidden freezer, integrated coffee machine, and microwave, as well as desperately searching for a Golden Tee machine, which they say is almost impossible to find in the UK but… they are in luck, Home Leisure Direct now stock the brand new Golden Tee 2021 Home Edition.
