Andy: Okay, so on to another question we got from one of our
Facebook followers, Ian Taylor, thank you Ian for the question.
He would like to know, how is consistency achieved?
Gareth Potts: I think that is the problem with a lot of players even at
the top level, the professional level because everybody can play
the game of pool. I think potting 7 balls and the black is relatively
easy to do. But to do it when the balls are in a tricky situation, or to
do it frame after frame, rack after rack, match after match is the
problem with most players at any level.
So, I think that what comes with winning tournaments and
dominating through seasons is you have to be consistent which
means basically that I'm playing against somebody that on his
given day can play the game to a similar level that I can play
the game but the next day, his bad day would come before my bad
day would come.
So, I think to be consistent, it's all about putting the hours
in on the table and practicing and gaining the experience,
playing in a match environment, a match situation which gets you
worn into the feel and the pressure and being consistent under
certain situations because if you're seven each, first to eight
and you haven't experienced doing that very often, you're going
to be a little but more nervous then perhaps someone who has
done it lots of times. So, everything all accumulates into being
consistent but I think ultimately, it's all about practice.
Andy: Yeah, that's pretty great. Okay, thank you.
